The Double Bass
Andy made his stage directorial debut at the Southwark Playhouse, London with The Double Bass by Patrick Sϋskind (author of the acclaimed novel Perfume.)
The play is a psychological journey into the fracturing mind of a classical double bass player on the verge of complete breakdown -- lonely, trapped and feeling crushingly undervalued, he drinks himself into a frenzy, unleashing his fury at the instrument that has dominated his entire existence. The demons lurking beneath his intellect burst forth with a frightening yet hilarious vehemence, pushing him toward taking drastic measures. - The Double Bass opens on 29th September for a limited 2 week run. Andy will be attending informal after show discussions on 6th, 7th, and 9th of October.
The Double Bass completed its successful run at Southwark Playhouse on October 11 2003.
