Andy joined fellow LOTR cast members Sean Astin, Sala Baker, Dominic Monaghan, and Elijah Wood at ComicCon 2003 in San Diego.
A full house of approximately 5,000 fans attended the program, which included anecdotes from the cast members. Richard Taylor and several other ta special effects and props artists demonstrated costumes and weaponry. A short clip of scenes from The Return of the King was shown to the cheering audience.
Andy, Sean, Elijah, and Dominic then signed autographs for a huge crowd of fans.
